City Contacts

Rochester operates under the City Manager/Council form of government providing the effectiveness of a professional city manager and responsive elected officials. The City Manager is hired by the City Council to effectively manage the City. A Mayor and 12 member City Council are elected by popular vote of the City's residents. Most city departments are housed within City Hall, located in the center of downtown Rochester, that are ready to serve its citizens.

The City's new waste water treatment facility will assure service to business and accommodate the needs of a growing community.

Rochester's Master Plan process provides members of the community an opportunity to discuss the assets and concerns of the city including infrastructure, land use and transportation. Individuals and business people work together on committees designed to evaluate and direct city leaders in planning and development for Rochester. This valuable process results in a clear vision and planning document for leaders to follow on future development.

Three post offices serve residents and businesses well in all areas of the City. A central location is found near the downtown district and other locations in East Rochester and Gonic.
