SEACOAST AREA CHAMBERS BRIDGE THE SEACOAST TO FORM A SEACOAST CHAMBER ALLIANCE

The Greater Rochester, Greater Somersworth, Greater Dover, Exeter Area, Greater Portsmouth and Hampton Area Chambers of Commerce have begun discussions to form a Seacoast Chamber Alliance. Once formed, the Alliance will be the largest business organization in the state with over 2,000 members representing over 50,000 employees.

The organizations intend to use the collective power of the Seacoast Chamber Alliance to enhance membership value, influence policy, regional promotion, and to reduce expenses for the independent Chambers by realizing economies of scale. According to Rochester Chamber President, Laura Ring, “the Chambers involved have been collaborating together for years providing joint networking events and opportunities for our members which will continue. Discussions about forming an alliance for the seacoast chambers began a couple of years ago in finding ways to work together to provide more value to our members in terms of programs that we cannot provide individually, and provide more of a voice for our members on legislative issues.”

The executives and board representatives of the six Chambers will be meeting throughout the late winter to formalize the structure and by-laws for this alliance.

Appearing in photo from left to right are: Kirt Schuman, Dover Chamber Executive Director; Mike Schidlovsky, Exeter Area Chamber President; Jennifer Soldati, Somersworth Chamber Executive Director; Doug Bates, Portsmouth Chamber President; Laura Ring, Rochester Chamber President; and Doc Noel, Hampton Area Chamber President.

THE CHAMBER LINKS

Come and meet fellow business people with The Chamber Links networking groups. The Chamber Links networking meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday from 11:30am-1pm each month at the Granite Steak & Grill located at 11 Farmington Road (Route 11) in Rochester.

The goal of Chamber Links is to introduce and make business connections with business professionals in a casual and facilitated setting. This networking opportunity provides members and guests a chance to give a 60 second snippet about their business. In addition, one member will be afforded the opportunity to give a 10 minute on-stage presentation at each meeting. The member on-stage will also be given a choice of additional free advertising on either the website or the Chamber newsletter.

On-stage presentations are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Call Laura at 332-5080.
