Greater Rochester Young Professionals

Due to the upcoming holidays, there will be no Young Professional Meetings scheduled in
November or December, 2016.
Meetings will resume in January 2017!

The Greater Rochester Young Professionals group (GRYP) is designed for young professionals in the area, between the ages of 21 and 35, who meet in a casual setting while networking with others and building their contact base. Through networking and involvement, these young professionals build a sense of community and belonging, build rapport with potential clients, expand their social interactions, and represent their company.

The group meets on the third Tuesday each month (unless otherwise specified). Monthly meetings include tours of Rochester facilities, guest speakers speaking on professional development topics decided by YOU, and networking at member restaurants.

Guests are always welcomed and you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend.

Name: Elizabeth Clemence

Hometown: I moved around a lot but I consider Texas my home

Education: Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M University

Major: Business Management

Employer/Title: Goodwin Community Health/Development Officer

How Long Have You Been Employed Here: 1 Year

What Is Your Role: I get to build relationships with people in the community, find out what they are interested in and connect them to the programs and services at Goodwin that they are passionate about. I also currently have my hands in grant writing, database management, event planning, donor advancement, and board relations.

Tell Us Why You Love Your Job: I am privileged with a front row seat to see hundreds of our patients lives changed as a result of donors generosity. Everyone gives to charitable causes for different reasons and I am interested in each donor's story about why they choose to give to Goodwin. I also enjoy working with our Board of Directors. They are a very dedicated group of volunteers who provide excellent guidance for the organization. Lastly, I love that each day requires the application of different skills. I have gained a broad knowledge base in my short career about recruiting, marketing, finance, communications, strategic planning, volunteer management, and event coordination. Development Officers touch many departments in a non-profit organization which gives me a unique perspective on business operations.

Tell Us What You Like About the Greater Rochester Young Professionals Networking Group: Having recently relocated to the Seacoast, I enjoy meeting other young professionals and growing my network of friends and colleagues. Rochester appears to be a tightly knit, supportive community. I look forward to positively contributing to the city and the group however I can.
